Bypass the corporate controlled media machine:
Indymedia
- a collective of independent media organizations and hundreds of
journalists offering grassroots, non-corporate coverage. Indymedia
is a democratic media outlet for the creation of radical, accurate,
and passionate tellings of truth.
ZNet -
is a huge website updated many times daily and designed to convey
information and provide community. A quarter of a million people
a week use ZNet. Founded in 1995, ZNet offers information through
diverse watch areas and sub-sites, translations, archives, links
to other progressive sites, a daily commentary program, and much
more. The above link goes to the ZNet top page, and the rest is
all accessible from there.
Media lens
- has grown out of frustration with the unwillingness, or inability,
of the mainstream media to tell the truth about the real causes
and extent of many of the problems facing us. Because much modern
suffering is rooted in the unlimited greed of corporate profit-maximising
- in the subordination of people and planet to profit - it is a
genuine tragedy that society has been forced to rely on the corporate
media for 'accurate' information.

Fainess and accuracy
in reporting - FAIR the national media watch group, has
been offering well-documented criticism of media bias and censorship
since 1986. An anti-censorship organization, we expose neglected
news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled.
Common
Dreams is a national non-profit citizens' organization working
to bring progressive Americans together to promote progressive visions
for America's future. Founded in 1997, we are committed to being
on the cutting-edge of using the internet as a political organizing
tool - and creating new models for internet activism.
CounterPunch
is the bi-weekly muckraking newsletter edited by Alexander Cockburn
and Jeffrey St. Clair. Twice a month we bring our readers the stories
that the corporate press never prints. We aren't side-line journalists
here at CounterPunch. Ours is muckraking with a radical attitude
and nothing makes us happier than when CounterPunch readers write
in to say how useful they've found our newsletter in their battles
against the war machine, big business and the rapers of nature.
